OCR: TWO CYCLE ENGINE A Cycle is a single stroke of the piston. There are no Two Cycle gas or diesel engines shown in these stacks, but the Steam engine shown could be considered Two Cycle, in that the operation of the engine repeats every two strokes. In a Two Cycle Gas or Diesel, the two cycles are Exhaust/ Intake and Power/exhaust. See Four Cycle Engine. VENTURI A constriction in a fluid passage designed to create a low pressure when fluid flows through it. Uenturis are used for a tremendous number of unrelated applications. In this context the venturi in a carburator is used to create low pressure which draws fuel from the Float Bowl through the Main Jet orifice and into the Intake Manifold
